Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguini

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguini and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Reserve Pasta Water

Before draining the linguini, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water. This will help to adjust the sauce consistency later.

  3. 3

    Drain the Pasta

Drain the linguini in a colander, shaking off any excess water. Do not rinse the pasta.

Garlic Oil Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Garlic Oil

In a large skillet, add the olive oil and heat over medium-low heat. Once the oil is warm, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook gently, stirring frequently, for about 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.

Combine and Serve

  1. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained linguini to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to coat the pasta in the oil and garlic mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water to loosen it, stirring until desired consistency is reached.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss lightly to combine. Serve immediately while hot.
