Dry Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing well until combined. The batter will be thick.

  5. 5

    Add Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water, mixing until the batter becomes smooth and thin.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cakes

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cakes

Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then remove from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Frosting

In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.

  2. 9

    Add Cream and Vanilla

Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy. If too thick, add a little more cream until desired consistency is reached.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Frost the Cakes

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.

  2. 11

    Serve

Slice the cake and serve. Enjoy your homemade chocolate cake!
