Seafood Boil & Fried Shrimp

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boiling the Shrimp

In a large pot, fill with water and add Old Bay seasoning, lemon slices, and minced garlic. Bring to a boil.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3

    Frying the Shrimp

In a separate bowl, mix cornmeal and flour. Beat the eggs in another bowl. Dip shrimp into eggs and then coat with the cornmeal mixture. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan and fry the shrimp until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Making Stuffed Crabs

For stuffed crabs, mix crab meat with breadcrumbs, seasoning, and a bit of butter. Stuff the mixture into crab shells and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.

  5. 5

    Preparing Hush Puppies

Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add water gradually to form a thick batter. Drop spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
