Method

COCKTAILS

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Take a lowball or rocks glass and place it in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of bourbon, 0.5 oz of rye whiskey, 1 tsp of demerara sugar, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

  3. 3

    Muddle the Mixture

Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently stir the mixture to dissolve the sugar fully with the bitters and whiskey.

  4. 4

    Add Ice and Stir

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain into Glass

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Strain the mixture into the glass over fresh ice cubes.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Take a piece of orange peel and express the oils over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist. Drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.

  7. 7

    Serve

Your Old Fashioned cocktail is now ready to be enjoyed. Sip slowly and savor the flavors.
