Crabcake Ingredients

Method

Crabcake Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped green onions, and half of the panko breadcrumbs. Mix until just combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat.

  2. 2

    Add Egg and Seasoning

Add the egg, salt, and black pepper to the crab mixture. Stir gently again until the egg is fully incorporated into the mixture.

  3. 3

    Form the Crabcakes

Using your hands, shape the mixture into patties about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. You should get about 8 crabcakes from the mixture.

  4. 4

    Coat the Crabcakes

Spread the remaining panko breadcrumbs on a plate and gently coat each crabcake with the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure they stick.

  5. 5

    Chill the Crabcakes

Place the crabcakes on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during cooking.

  6. 6

    Cook the Crabcakes

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the crabcakes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove the crabcakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
