Prepare the Glass
Select a chilled cocktail glass or a rocks glass and set it aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the mezcal, tamarind paste, fresh pineapple juice, lime juice, agave syrup, and pasilla chili powder.

Add Ice
Add ice cubes to the cocktail shaker, filling it about halfway.

Shake Well
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled and mixed.

Strain the Cocktail
Using a strainer, pour the mixture into the prepared glass. If desired, you can use a fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp from the tamarind.

Garnish
Garnish the cocktail with a wedge of pineapple and a pasilla chili placed on top or on the rim of the glass.

Serve
