Method

Directions for Stuffed Peppers

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peppers

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off of the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Place them upright in a baking dish.

  2. 2

    Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent. Add the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned.

  3. 3

    Combine the Ingredients

Stir in the cooked rice and half of the tomato sauce to the beef mixture. Mix well and remove from heat.

  4. 4

    Stuff the Peppers

Spoon the beef and rice mixture into each bell pepper until they are filled. Top each stuffed pepper with the remaining tomato sauce and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your stuffed peppers!
