Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Brown the Meat

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Wine and Tomatoes

Pour in the red wine, allowing it to reduce for about 2-3 minutes. Then add the canned tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well to combine.

  5. 5

    Season the Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil to the sauce. Stir well.

  6. 6

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a richer flavor, let it simmer for up to 1 hour.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Bolognese sauce over your favorite pasta, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
