Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Tomato Sauce
In a saucepan, crush the San Marzano tomatoes and add salt. Simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes until thickened. Set aside to cool.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to its highest setting, usually around 250°C (482°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 3
Roll Out the Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a round shape, approximately 12 inches in diameter.
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
Spread a generous amount of the prepared tomato sauce over the rolled-out dough. Tear the mozzarella di bufala into pieces and distribute evenly on top of the sauce. Add fresh basil leaves and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
- 5
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 6
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, and then slice it. Serve hot and enjoy!
