Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Stir in the diced carrots, potatoes, and frozen peas, and cook for another 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

Sprinkle the flour over the vegetable mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add the chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine with Chicken

Add the shredded chicken, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well and remove from heat.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Pour the chicken mixture into a baking dish. Roll out the puff pastry sheets and place them over the filling, sealing the edges. Cut slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape.

  6. 6

    Egg Wash

Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

  8. 8

    Serve

Let the pot pie cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious chicken pot pie!
