Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes under cold water. Remove the stems and dice them into small pieces.

Chop the Basil
Wash the basil leaves, pat them dry, then chop them finely.

Mince the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely.

Mix the Topping
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Gently toss everything together to ensure even distribution.

Slice the Bread
Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Use a spoon to generously top each slice with the prepared tomato mixture.
