Preparation Steps
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Flatten the chicken breast fillets gently with a meat mallet for even cooking.
Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station: Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes. Dredge each chicken fillet in flour, dip into eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Cook the Chicken
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the breaded chicken fillets for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a baking sheet and finish in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Prepare the Vegetables
While the chicken is baking, slice the onion, tomato, and wash the lettuce.
Warm the Pita
In a separate skillet or on a grill, lightly warm the pita bread until soft and pliable.
Assemble the Dish
Place a warm pita on a plate. Add a layer of lettuce, followed by the sliced onions and tomatoes. Top with the cooked chicken fillet and drizzle with tzatziki sauce.
Serve
Serve immediately while warm, and enjoy your Santorini Chicken Filet!
