Onion Ring Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and place them in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Gradually whisk in the cold sparkling water until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, making sure they are well coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Rings

Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried onion rings from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
