Calzone Ingredients

Method

Calzone Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef, bell pepper, and onion. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Calzone

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Place half of the beef and vegetable mixture on one half of the dough, leaving a border. Top with American cheese.

  3. 3

    Seal and Bake

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. Optionally, cut a few slits on top for steam to escape. Place the calzone on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

  4. 4

    Serve

Let the calzone cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
