Tartine Base

Cream Cheese Mousse

Method

Preparation of Tartine Base

  1. 1

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the slices of sourdough bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Cream Cheese Mousse Preparation

  1. 2

    Blend Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, heavy cream, fresh dill, lemon juice, and salt. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, beat the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

Assembling the Tartine

  1. 3

    Spread Cream Cheese Mousse

Once the sourdough bread is toasted and slightly cooled, generously spread the cream cheese mousse over each slice.

  2. 4

    Add Toppings

Layer the smoked salmon evenly over the cream cheese mousse. Slice the heirloom tomato and arrange it on top. Add a few spoonfuls of pickled red onion and sprinkle capers over each tartine.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve and Enjoy

Serve the smoked salmon tartines immediately while the bread is still crispy. Enjoy as an appetizer or a light meal.
