Chocolate Sauce
Method
Doughnuts
- 1
Prepare the Doughnut Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to incorporate all dry ingredients.
- 2
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 5
Fry the Doughnuts
Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Cool the Doughnuts
Allow the doughnuts to cool on a wire rack while you prepare the chocolate sauce.
Chocolate Sauce
- 7
Heat the Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Do not let it boil.
- 8

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let sit for 1-2 minutes to melt the chocolate.
- 9
Combine and Add Vanilla
Stir the mixture until smooth and fully combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
