Dough Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter over medium heat until warm and the butter is melted. Let it cool slightly.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Filling Preparation

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.

Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
Bourbon Caramel Preparation

In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and cook over medium heat until melted and amber in color.

Stir in the butter until melted, then carefully add the heavy cream and bourbon, stirring until smooth.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
Candied Pecans Preparation

Add pecans to the syrup and stir to coat evenly.

Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until the pecans are toasted and the syrup thickens.

Remove from heat and spread the pecans on parchment paper to cool. Once cool, break them apart.
Assembly and Baking

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour half of the bourbon caramel at the bottom.

Place the cinnamon rolls cut-side up over the caramel in the baking dish.

Cover the dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Once baked, drizzle the remaining bourbon caramel over the warm rolls and sprinkle with candied pecans.
