Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mash the Beans

In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked quinoa, oats, diced bell pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 6

    Prepare the Fries

In a mixing bowl, toss sliced potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

  3. 7

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the whole wheat burger buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Burger

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add a cooked veggie patty, top with tomato slices, avocado slices, ketchup, and mustard, then cover with the top half of the bun.
