Topping (optional)

Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Crust

In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter together until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer. Use the bottom of a measuring cup to help compress it.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until it's lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Beat the Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Other Ingredients

Gradually add the granulated sugar, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.

  3. 7

    Add Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 8

    Incorporate Flour

Add the all-purpose flour and mix just until combined.

  5. 9

    Pour the Filling

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 10

    Bake

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  2. 11

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and crack the door open. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour to prevent cracking.

  3. 12

    Chill

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 13

    Prepare Topping (Optional)

If desired, top the chilled cheesecake with sliced fresh strawberries and drizzle with strawberry sauce before serving.

  2. 14

    Slice and Serve

Carefully run a knife around the edge of the springform pan before releasing the sides. Slice the cheesecake into wedges and serve.
