Apple Tart Ingredients
Method
Apple Tart Preparation
- 1
Make the Tart Crust
In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cold water until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Apple Filling
In a separate bowl, mix the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside to allow the apples to release some juices.
- 3
Assemble the Tart
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Place the dough in the pan and fill it with the apple mixture.
- 4
Bake the Tart
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
- 5
Serve with Ice Cream
Slice the tart and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
