Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the 10oz ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil. Generously season both sides with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Make sure to rub the seasoning into the meat for maximum flavor.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (approximately 450°F to 500°F). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and glowing.

  2. 4

    Grill the Ribeye

Place the ribeye steak on the grill. For medium-rare, grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the steak and grill for another 4-5 minutes. Adjust time based on your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Optional Garnish

If desired, during the last minute of grilling, add a sprig of fresh rosemary and a tablespoon of butter on top of the steak to enhance flavor.

Resting

  1. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once done, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, making the steak more tender.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly grilled ribeye steak!
