Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip the patties. Top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

Lightly toast the burger bun on the grill or in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked Angus beef patty with melted cheese. Layer with smoked applewood corned beef, tomato slices, pickles, and add mustard and ketchup to taste.

  3. 7

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently to secure the toppings.
