Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the dry ingredients along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Topping Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Toppings

While the dough is rising, prepare your toppings. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, chopped bacon, green onions, parsley, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 8

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll out or stretch the dough to fit your pizza pan.

  3. 9

    Add Toppings

Spread the mashed potato mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with Irish cheddar cheese.

  4. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 11

    Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
