Prepare the Bacon
Prepare the Burger Patties
Mix the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make an indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cook the Burgers
Grill or Pan-Fry the Patties
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

While the burgers are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
