Dough and Filling
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small saucepan, heat milk and 1/2 cup of butter until warm (about 110°F). Remove from heat, stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and eggs, mixing until well combined. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and the remaining melted butter. If using, stir in the raisins.
- 5
- 6
Shape the Rolls
Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- 7
Second Rise
Cover the rolls with a towel and let rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
- 8
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- 9
- 10
Serve
Once baked, remove from oven, drizzle with frosting and serve warm with whipped butter.
