Crust

Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Crust Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 1 large egg, and 0.5 cups of melted unsalted butter. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Prepare Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter. Press the cake mixture into the bottom of the dish to form an even crust.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Filling Ingredients

In a separate mixing bowl, beat the 8 oz of softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 4 cups of powdered sugar and continue to mix until well blended.

  2. 5

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 2 large eggs and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Finally, add 0.5 cups of melted unsalted butter and mix until smooth.

  3. 6

    Pour Filling Over Crust

Carefully pour the cream cheese filling over the crust in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Cake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes. The top should be golden and set, but the center may still be slightly gooey.

  2. 8

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
