    Butter the Bread

    Spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on one side of each slice of Texas toast bread.

Assembling the Sandwich

    Layer the Cheese

    Place one slice of Texas toast butter-side down on a clean surface. Lay 2 slices of American cheese on top of the bread. Cover with the second slice of Texas toast, butter-side up.

Grilling the Sandwich

    Preheat the Pan

    Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat until hot.

    Grill the Sandwich

    Place the assembled sandwich in the hot skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.

    Flip and Grill

    Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula. Grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

    Slice and Serve

    Remove the grilled cheese from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice it in half and serve warm.
