Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the Angus ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Make sure it's hot before adding the patties.

  2. 4

    Grill the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Rolls

While the patties are cooking, slice the pretzel rolls in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each pretzel roll, layer lettuce, a cooked patty with melted cheese, another patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the pretzel roll.
