Cake Base Preparation

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1.5 cups of granulated sugar, 2 tsp of baking powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt. Whisk until well mixed.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In another bowl, beat 0.5 cups of softened unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add in the dry mixture while mixing.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add 3 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.

Incorporate Milk
Pour in 1 cup of milk and mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.

Bake the Cakes
Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cakes
Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of softened unsalted butter until fluffy. Gradually add in 4 cups of powdered sugar while mixing. Add 2 tbsp of heavy cream and 2 tsp of vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and creamy.

Frost the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the entire cake.

Decorate the Cake
Top the frosted cake with 1 cup of fresh strawberries, 0.25 cups of mint leaves, and sprinkle 0.5 cups of chocolate shavings on top for an elegant finish.
