Pretzel Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.

Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Form Pretzels
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and twist into a pretzel shape.

Boil Pretzels
In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then remove and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Arrange the baked pretzels on a large charcuterie board or platter.
