Method

Country Fried Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Slice the beef round steak into 1/2-inch thick pieces. Tenderize the steak using a meat mallet, if desired.

  2. 2

    Season the Flour

In a shallow dish, mix the all-purpose flour with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Coat the Steak

Dip each piece of steak into the buttermilk, then dredge in the seasoned flour until evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Steak

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated steak pieces and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Breakfast Gravy

  1. 5

    Cook the Sausage

In the same skillet used for the steak, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up into small pieces until browned.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage, stirring to combine. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

Breakfast Potatoes

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Dice the potatoes into small cubes. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Potatoes

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the boiled potatoes, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Cook until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Eggs

  1. 9

    Fry the Eggs

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook them to your desired doneness (sunny-side up, over-easy, etc.).

Biscuit or English Muffin

  1. 10

    Prepare the Biscuit or Muffin

Prepare the biscuit mix according to the package directions using milk. Bake or toast until golden.
