Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well mixed.

  2. 2

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a separate bowl, cream the unsalted butter until smooth, then add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Shape the Poppers

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake the poppers in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Cream Cheese Icing Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix Cream Cheese

In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  2. 7

    Add Sugar and Vanilla

Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  3. 8

    Adjust Consistency

Add milk one tablespoon at a time until the icing reaches a drizzling consistency.

Topping Preparation

  1. 9

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 10

    Coat Poppers

Once the poppers are out of the oven and slightly cooled, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.

Final Assembly

  1. 11

    Ice the Poppers

Drizzle the cream cheese icing over the cinnamon-coated poppers before serving.
