Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a medium bowl, crack the 3 large eggs and add 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Allow the butter to melt completely, coating the bottom of the skillet evenly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and let it cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes, or until the edges start to set and the bottom is lightly golden.

  4. 4

    Add the Cheese

Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, place 2 slices of American cheese on one half of the omelet.

  5. 5

    Fold the Omelet

Using a spatula, carefully fold the omelet in half over the cheese. Let it cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the omelet to finish cooking.

  6. 6

    Serve

Gently slide the omelet onto a plate. Cut in half if desired, and serve hot.
