Bruschetta Topping

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Balsamic Reduction

In a small saucepan, bring the balsamic vinegar to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes, or until it has thickened and reduced by half. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Dice the fresh tomatoes, bell pepper, and red onion into small pieces. Place them in a mixing bowl along with the chopped black olives. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh basil. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice a baguette or crusty bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Bruschetta

Top each toasted bread slice with a generous spoonful of the vegetable mixture. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top of each bruschetta for added flavor. Serve immediately.
