Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of espresso or strong coffee and set aside to cool.

Mix with Liqueur
If using, mix in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur into the cooled coffee. Set aside.
Prepare the Cream Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a medium bowl, whisk 3 egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in 1 cup of mascarpone cheese until fully incorporated.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
