Method
Preparing the Filling
- 1
- 2
Add Seasoning
Stir in the finely chopped green chili, tamarind paste, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- 3
Mix in Paneer
Allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the grated paneer. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
Wrapping the Cigars
- 4
Prepare Cornstarch Mixture
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a paste. This will be used to seal the wrappers.
- 5
Assemble Cigars
Take one spring roll wrapper and place about 2 tablespoons of the filling near one edge. Roll tightly, folding in the sides as you go, and seal the edge with the cornstarch paste.
- 6
Repeat Process
Repeat the rolling process for all wrappers and filling, ensuring each cigar is securely sealed.
Frying the Cigars
- 7
Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
- 8
Fry Cigars
Carefully add the prepared paneer cigars to the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 9
Drain Excess Oil
Once fried, remove the cigars from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
