Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasonings

Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the smoked gouda, sharp cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce. Mix until all the pasta is well coated.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
