Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth. Stir until combined and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until the mixture is thick and pale, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, add the vanilla extract and pinch of salt, and gently fold until just combined.

  5. 5

    Add Flour

Sift the all-purpose flour over the chocolate mixture and gently fold until no streaks remain.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Cool

Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates.

Serving Suggestions
