For Cooking
Method
Tofu Preparation
Press the Tofu
Remove the tofu from its packaging, drain the water, and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on top (like a cast-iron skillet) to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
Cut the Tofu
After pressing, cut the tofu into cubes or rectangles, about 1-inch thick.
Coat Tofu with Cornstarch
In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed tofu with cornstarch and salt. Toss gently until the tofu is evenly coated.
Agave Sriracha Sauce
Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the agave nectar, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, and ginger powder until well combined. Set aside.
Cooking the Tofu
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the Tofu
Add the coated tofu to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Add the Sauce
Once the tofu is crispy, pour the agave sriracha sauce over the tofu. Toss gently to coat the tofu evenly in the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Garnish and Serve
Finely chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the tofu. Top with sesame seeds before serving.
