Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.
- 3
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In another mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
- 5
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee quickly, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Place them in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.
- 6
Layer the Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
- 7
Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.
- 8
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- 9
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with shaved dark chocolate. Cut into squares and enjoy!
