Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until hot.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Add the breaded chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 6
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom. Place the fried chicken breasts on top, then spoon the remaining marinara sauce over each piece. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Baking
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
If desired, garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy your Chicken Parmesan with pasta or a side salad.
