Directions

  1. 1

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large saucepan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Toast the Rice

Add the long-grain rice to the saucepan. Stir well to coat the rice with the butter and oil, cooking for about 2-3 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.

  3. 3

    Add Broth and Seasoning

Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, and add salt and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.

  5. 5

    Fluff and Serve

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
