Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture, warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape Rolls

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  9. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter. Serve warm with additional butter on the side.
