    Prepare the Pork

    Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks.

    Marinate

    In a large bowl, mix apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the pork chunks to the marinade, making sure they're well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

    Cook the Pork

    Place the marinated pork in a slow cooker. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds.

    Shred and Serve

    Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining sauce. Serve on buns or with sides of your choice.
