Method

Preparing the Toasted Ravioli

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with a whisked egg mixed with milk, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Bread the Ravioli

Dip each cheese ravioli first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.

  3. 3

    Fry the Ravioli

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the breaded ravioli in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Making the Vodka Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Cream and Cheese

Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 5 minutes.

  4. 7

    Finish the Sauce

Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh basil.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 8

    Combine and Serve

On a serving plate, place a generous amount of vodka sauce and top it with the toasted ravioli. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and serve immediately.
