Meatballs

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. Form the mixture into 12 evenly sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, sugar, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

  4. 7

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 5-10 minutes.
