Method
Preparation of Sirloin
- 1
Prepare the Grill
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F to 450°F).
- 2
Season the Steak
Pat the sirloin steaks dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 3
- 4
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Preparation of Mushroom Basil Marsala Cream Sauce
- 5
Sauté the Mushrooms
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are browned and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
- 6
Add Garlic and Basil
Stir in the minced garlic and chopped basil. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 7
Deglaze with Marsala Wine
Pour in the Marsala wine, scraping the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly reduced.
- 8
Add Heavy Cream
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
