Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the fettuccine noodles in a colander, reserving about 1 cup of the pasta water. Set the noodles aside.

Alfredo Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it is fully melted and begins to foam.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.

  3. 5

    Add Heavy Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, until it thickens slightly.

  4. 6

    Incorporate Parmesan Cheese

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is achieved.

  5. 7

    Season the Sauce

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste, stirring well to combine.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Combine Fettuccine and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine noodles to the sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the noodles evenly with the Alfredo sauce.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish, and serve immediately while hot.
