Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
Form the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and BBQ sauce. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, approximately 7 oz each.
- 2
Chill the Patties
Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Cook the Bacon
- 3
Grill the Burger
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 5
Grill the Patties
Place the chilled burger patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- 6
Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Assemble the Burger
- 7
Toast the Bun
While the burgers are cooking, slice the sweet sourdough bun in half and toast it on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
- 8
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the grilled burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon slices, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
