Dry Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix warm water and olive oil together. Ensure the water is warm but not hot, around 110°F (43°C) to activate the yeast.

Dough Formation

  1. 3

    Form the Dough

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.

  2. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. You may need to add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.

First Rise

  1. 5

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Shaping and Second Rise

  1. 6

    Shape the Bread

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a loaf or divide into smaller portions for rolls.

  2. 7

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet. Cover and let it rise again for another 30-45 minutes.

Baking

  1. 8

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 9

    Bake the Bread

Once the dough has risen, bake it in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  3. 10

    Cool the Bread

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
